Below are some of the recent accomplishments made possible through help from our generous funders. 2006 Program Accomplishments - In 2006, Maryland LCV Education Fund continued our core programs to increase the capacity and build the power of the environmental community though List Enhancement, an updated Environmental Briefing Book, and the Environmental Community Online System. - We provided strategic support and training to grassroots organizations and environmental coalitions including the Citizens' Campaign for the Environment, the Healthy Air Coalition, and Partners for Open Space. - We launched a program that identified, educated, and motivated 24,000 new conservation-minded voters in Maryland. - In the 2006 elections, Maryland LCV Education Fund contacted 127,000 conservation voters to get out the conservation vote through innovative programs to increase non-partisan environmental voter turnout. - Leading a coordinated grassroots campaign, we raised awareness of and support for land conservation by educating over 280,000 voters about Ballot Question #1 to protect open spaces from development--which passed by overwhelming 85 percent! |
