Development Manager Position

 
Maryland LCV and the Maryland LCV Education Fund seek a Development Associate to assist the Executive Director and Deputy Director in implementing aspects of overall fundraising strategy. Major responsibilities will include assisting with the major donor program, expanding the monthly donor program, helping to write grant proposals and reports, research potential funders and donors, and organizing fundraising house parties. The Development Manager reports to the Executive Director.

 Internships

The Maryland LCV and LCV Education Fund are among Maryland's leading statewide advocacy organizations. We work in Annapolis to pass pro-conservation legislation and engage conservation minded voters on Election Day and beyond to hold elected officials accountable. 

Multiple internships are available for the Spring semester in multiple locations. Visit out website for more information. Send resume and cover letter to apply to no calls please- by January 15th, 2012.

Legislative Intern-Annapolis 
Research and track Legislation
Assist in lobbying of elected officials
Draft legislative testimony and "Hot List" 
Recruit volunteers to distribute the Hot List 
Coordinate campaigns to elect pro-conservation candidates 
Attend political events

Media Coverage and Communications Intern- Annapolis
Utilize new media techniques to keep up to date in environmental news
Monitor local news sources for MDLCV coverage
Assist in writing press releases, coordinating MDLCV press conferences and press releases
Help build relationships with newspaper and TV reporters
Help in coalition work across the state

Fundraising Intern- Annapolis
Manage database of donors
Assist in planning fundraising events
Detail-oriented individual for data entry and event coordination
Strong editing skills a plus

Community Organizing Intern- Baltimore County
Attend events and help coordinate volunteers throughout the county
Help facilitate alliance of county environmental and community groups
Assisting in planning alliance meetings and trainings
Help plan townhall meetings and trainings that will occur throughout the session
Outreach includes advertising in local papers
Coordinating and running phonebanks
Help design flyers and communications for events
Help manage our member lists and update contact information
Meet with the Baltimore County Organizer once a week for updates and accountability

Community Organizing Intern- Eastern Shore
Attend events and help coordinate volunteers throughout the Shore
Help facilitate alliance of environmental and community groups
Assisting in planning alliance meetings and trainings
Help plan townhall meetings and trainings that will occur throughout the session
Outreach includes advertising in local papers
Coordinating and running phonebanks
Help design flyers and communications for events
Help manage our member lists and update contact information
Meet with the Eastern Shore Organizer once a week for updates and accountability

Offshore Wind Community Organizing Intern- Baltimore City
Help plan events and trainings that will occur throughout the session
Draft editorials for the news and media
Engage in actions and encourage grassroots civic involvement
Coordinate outreach and volunteers
Help design flyers and communications for events
Help manage member lists and update contact information
Meet with the Clean Energy Organizer once a week for updates and accountability

Attendance of three intern seminars is required. Also occasional trips to Annapolis may be required. Interns must have reliable transportation and access to the internet.  Please send your resume and cover letter to Dannielle Lipinski, by January 15th, 2012.
