Join us on November 13

“Hello, Green Drinkers!” …our opening call for close to 18 years as Annapolis Green gathered environmental advocates and curious local residents together on a regular basis to “learn one new thing and meet one new person.” We held our last Green Drinks Annapolis in December of 2024 when Annapolis Green, the organization we co-founded, closed. In the interim we have heard over and over how the community missed these events for the information, the new ideas, and the camaraderie.

We’re happy to announce that Green Drinks Annapolis is back!   The Maryland League of Conservation Voters (MDLCV) Education Fund will be the new host organization of Green Drinks Annapolis.

It’s a great fit. Here’s what Maryland LCV Education Fund does:

The Maryland League of Conservation Voters Education Fund’s mission is to educate and activate people to action for clean water, healthy air, and climate-resilient communities. We do this by educating people in Maryland to become informed and inspired environmental advocates and voters.

We are thrilled by this transition as there are many ties to the work of Annapolis Green.  At Annapolis Green, we recognized the importance of in-person gatherings to build community around environmental issues. We highlighted topics as varied as:

  • Adoption of electric vehicles;
  • Plastic-free initiatives, including our NAPTOWN TAP water refill stations, and reducing plastic pollution in the form of straws and even cigarette butts;
  • Responsible Events and Festivals (that we now call simply Bay Responsible);
  • Protection of pollinator habitats; and so much more.

We wrote and presented testimony on legislation at all levels of government. We made our office on Maryland Avenue an example of how to live, work, and play with minimal environmental impact. And, we made concern for and participation in environmental issues fun.

This is how we described Green Drinks Annapolis on the Green Drinks International website:

…the place to get local information on how to go Green and live an environmentally responsible life – easily – in the Annapolis area. Annapolis Green’s mission is to connect, educate and motivate Greater Annapolis to protect the environment and beautify our surroundings for a strong and thriving way of life. Annapolis Green connects the community by communicating an environmental message that is meaningful, positive and motivational, engaging residents, businesses, non-profits, government agencies, and visitors. Its goal is to make the Annapolis area as Green as possible—a place where sustainability is a way of life and a source of pride – by accelerating and contributing to the work of the legions of dedicated environmentalists and celebrating successes – in person, on the radio, online, and in everyday life. Our group’s goal is bringing together all of us who share a passion for the environment and concern for our Chesapeake Bay. We’re casual, fun, unstructured… with drinks and great Green ideas!

Maryland LCV Education Fund is taking up what we created, building on it, and making it their own. Green Drinks Annapolis may be a bit different going forward but Maryland LCV Education Fund is embracing our vision and we are thrilled.

Please join us in handing over the Green Drink glass to Maryland LCV Education Fund on Thursday, November 13, 2025 at their first Green Drinks Annapolis event, coinciding with their 25th anniversary celebration, at Great Frogs Winery in Annapolis. Space is limited, so please RSVP here to join in the fun, and wear something green to help us celebrate!

We hope to see you at many more Green Drinks! You’ll be sure to see many familiar faces, and meet and network with many new people, carrying on the Green Drinks spirit.
